1. Information We Collect
New Grad Resume Hub ("we", "our", "us") collects minimal information to provide our resume tools and content:
- Resume uploads: When you use the ATS Checker tool, your resume file is processed in your browser. We do not store, retain, or transmit uploaded resume files to our servers. Analysis happens entirely on your device.
- Tool usage data: We store usage counters (number of ATS checks, STAR analyses, and downloads used) locally in your browser's localStorage to enforce free tier limits. This data never leaves your device.
- Analytics: We use basic page view analytics to understand site traffic. This may collect anonymized data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (country-level).
- Cookies: We use essential cookies for site functionality and analytics cookies to improve the site. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and improve our resume tools and content
- To enforce free tier usage limits (via localStorage)
- To analyze site traffic and improve content
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
3. Resume Data Handling
Resume files uploaded to the ATS Checker and STAR Analyzer are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No resume content is sent to our servers, stored in databases, or shared with third parties. The analysis results are displayed in your browser and are not persisted after you close the page.
4. Data Retention
- Resume analysis data is deleted automatically within 1 hour of completion — analysis results are held only in your browser's memory during your session.
- LocalStorage usage counters persist in your browser until you clear your browser data.
- Cookie preferences persist as set in your browser.
- We do not maintain server-side databases of user data.
5. Third-Party Services
We may use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare: Hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs per their privacy policy.
- Fonts: We self-host our fonts. No data is shared with external font providers.
- Affiliate links: Some links to third-party resume tools (Rezi, Teal, etc.) may be affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you sign up through these links, at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more details.
6. COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Our tools include an age confirmation mechanism (users must confirm they are 13 or older before using interactive tools). This complies with COPPA requirements for general audience websites.
7. CAN-SPAM Act Compliance
If we collect email addresses for waitlist signups, newsletters, or account creation:
- We will only send emails to users who have explicitly opted in.
- Every marketing email will include a clear unsubscribe link.
- We will honor opt-out requests promptly (within 10 business days).
- Our emails will include our physical or online contact information.
- We will not use false or misleading subject lines.
Currently, we do not operate an email newsletter. These provisions apply if and when email communication features are launched.
8. State Privacy Law Rights (CCPA/CPRA and Others)
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights under laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Virginia CDPA, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA, and others:
- Right to Know: You may request information about what personal data we collect and how we use it.
- Right to Delete: You may request deletion of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Opt-Out: You may opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell personal data).
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Since we process all resume data in your browser and do not store personal data on our servers, most data rights are inherently satisfied. To exercise any of these rights, you can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time, or contact us. We do not charge fees for verified consumer requests.
9. International Users (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom: our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (providing the tools and content you request). Since all resume analysis happens in your browser and we store no personal data, most GDPR provisions are inherently satisfied. You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.
10. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, most data rights (access, deletion, portability) are inherently satisfied. You can:
- Clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time
- Disable cookies in your browser settings
- Use the site without uploading any files (tools are optional)
- Contact us with privacy questions or requests
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be noted prominently on the site.
12. Contact
